Your daily path. In clear view.
The to-do list isn't broken. It's just suffocated.
You know what needs doing, but can't get started.
You don't need a productivity tracker.
You need room to breathe.
We built Ta-da differently.
No scheduling. No integrations. No learning curve. No dead weight.
Just a simple daily task list and a steady rhythm,
organised across four time frames:
Today, Tomorrow, This Weekend and Some Day Soon.
Five tasks in each.
That's it.
Everything you need to get through your day.
Nothing you don't.
The essence
Ta-da was born out of frustration with every other to-do app out there. Not because they are bad apps, but because they are built for a kind of brain that isn't everyone's brain. They are feature-heavy, over-engineered and quietly overwhelming. The exact opposite of what someone struggling to focus needs when they are trying to get stuff done. Ta-da is an intentional to-do app for people who need their tools to work with their brain, not against it.
It is not a productivity tracker or a performance tool. It does not measure you, reward you with points or punish you with overdue notifications. It is a calm, focused space that channels energy rather than competing for it.
In a time of unlimited tasks, unlimited lists, unlimited everything, Ta-da practices constraint. It's an invitation to be intentional and honest about what is achievable in a day.
The nuts and bolts
In Ta-da you will find three pages: Goals, Thoughts and Wins. Goals presents you with four boxes: Today, Tomorrow, This Weekend and Some Day Soon. Each of those can hold five tasks and each task can hold five subtasks.
The idea is to plan ahead by adding tasks to Tomorrow, This Weekend and Some Day Soon. You can never manually add tasks to Today. Today is sacred. Overnight, Today gets its content from Tomorrow. So every day you wake up with a clear path. Tasks in Today can only be completed. No other editing here. Tasks in Tomorrow and This Weekend cannot be completed, but they can be edited. In short, Today is for doing, Tomorrow and This Weekend are for planning.
Some Day Soon is a little different. This is for things you would like to get to... some day soon. Here tasks can be edited and completed. Get to them whenever you feel like it. No rush.
Overnight, Ta-da does three things:
- All the completed tasks from Today and Some Day Soon are cleared and safely stowed away in Wins.
- All the incomplete tasks from Today are thrown out, because tasks that linger lose gravity and become a mental drain. If they are important, add them to Tomorrow again at the end of the day and consider how you might approach them anew. The incomplete tasks in Some Day Soon stay put.
- All the tasks from Tomorrow are moved to Today, leaving Tomorrow ready and waiting for new tasks to be added.
The only time this varies is when the weekend is within reach. On a Friday morning, Tomorrow will not be empty. The tasks from This Weekend will have found their way there since tomorrow is the weekend.
Thoughts is for everything else. It's a single, no-frills notepad. A blank canvas. A space for you to brain-dump into. A space for overflow ideas. A space for anything that doesn't quite find a home somewhere else. It's whatever you need it to be.
